Did you know that... |
... there
is a difference between LISTENING TO ONE'S BODY and LISTENING
TO THE NEEDS OF ONE'S BODY? I so often hear people say "I
listen to my body" used every which way that I thought I would
write this article for clarity. This term is most
often used by those who listen to their desires or whims in
order to ignore their guilt. For example, a person who is very
hot may decide to drink a beer instead of water. In doing so,
she listens neither to the message nor the needs of her body.
If she listened, she would know that when her body is thirsty,
it needs water. I must confess that I myself did this for many
years when I was in pain in my lower back. Each morning, back
pain woke me and pushed me to get up. I was convinced that I
was listening to my body by getting up. But that wasn't
so... These examples represent people who aren't
listening to their bodies. But what does it mean to listen to
one's body?
LISTENING TO YOUR BODY is to be attentive
to all messages you receive from your physical, emotional and
mental bodies. These messages tell you how much you listen to
their needs. LISTENING TO THE NEEDS OF ONE'S BODY
means to give it what it needs. Physically, it means giving
your body food when it is hungry, rest when it is tired or
allowing your body to sleep when it is sleepy. Because the
other two bodies are much more subtle, it is more difficult to
identify the times when we do not listen to their
needs. That is why I recommend you become aware
of your physical body first. It is always a reflection of
what's happening in your other two bodies. So as soon as you
feel uncomfortable in your physical body, you'll know you're
not comfortable in your other two bodies and you may not be
listening to some of their needs. When there is
discomfort, whether physiological or psychological, it is
always a message to the effect that we are not listening to
one or some of our needs.
If I may return to my sore back, the
message I received was that I NEEDED TO STAY IN BED LONGER, to
rest more. But I didn't because I maintained the belief that I
had no right to REALLY get some rest as long as all my tasks
were not finished. When your body hurts, take time to check
what the pain prevents you from doing and being. You will
discover THE TRUE NEEDS OF YOUR BODY. In my case, the pain
prevented me from staying comfortably in bed. So I needed to
be comfortable in my bed. Listening to your body
is to recognize that it speaks to you. Thank it for helping
you discover your true needs. In doing so, you can also
practice real love by giving yourself the right to listen (or
not to listen) to what is needed in the moment. Discovering
what you need does not require you to take immediate action,
but being aware that your ego stops you from listening should
help you fill your needs eventually. Of course,
you have the right not to listen to your needs if they are
beyond your limits for the moment. Be aware of this and accept
yourself. In doing so, you will listen to your needs more and
more and love yourself in the process. As you
learn to listen to the messages from your physical body, you
will more quickly identify the needs of your emotional and
mental bodies, even before your physical body reflects them.
You'll know you've listened to the needs of your emotional and
mental bodies when you no longer feel guilty or are no longer
controlled by your fears. The more you accept
yourself with your strengths and weaknesses, the more you will
listen to the needs of your three bodies and become a
spiritually fulfilled person.

Excellent & informative - Right on
the mark! By Mk Dekker My girlfriends and I
read through this book whilst at one of our bookclub dinners,
and Wow what amazing and profound truths came from reading
what our various ailments were as a result of. I was so taken
with this book I decided to buy it for my mum for her
birthday!!!
Awesome Book, By
Virginia "Vee Jay" As a therapeutic practitioner, I have
found this book to be sensational when defining the
attributing factors of pain and illness in my clients. It sits
beautifully alongside Louise Hay's "You Can Heal Your Life"
and is a wonderful addition to my library. Well written and
great descriptive outlines of many afflictions of the body. I
really wouldn't want to be without it these days.
Tough, deep reading, By Giuseppe Clemente
"spitfire" I can only confirm
what the two previous reviewers are stating. It is good, very
deep stuff and sort of tough. But again what Ms. Bourbeau
writes in her spontaneous and sweet style, is so true. This
book helps cleaning and suturing wounds
(this is the easy part), the healing can be painful, but sure
well worth doing. If the prospective reader is afraid
about the content, look at it in this way: here in Oklahoma,
after a grass fire, pastures are left burned and black, but
grass comes back green, very green and better than before the
fire.
The wounds and the cures, By
Pieter "Toypom" The author
explains her theory that all physical, emotional and mental
diseases have their origin in what she terms the 5 wounds:
abandonment, betrayal, humiliation, injustice and rejection.
She discusses these wounds in great detail and elaborates upon
the various masks that we develop in order to hide them. In
this way she makes it easy to identify the real causes of
specific problems. Her ideas are fascinating, especially where
she deals with body weight and other clues provided by our
bodies. Apparently even the way we dance provides insight into
our particular wounds and the masks we use to cover them. Her
healing insights are very valuable and following them will set
the individual on the path to complete healing and to
realising their full potential. Her approach is unique and
innovative and her methods of healing appeal to common sense.
This is a great book to learn more about oneself and become a
healthier and happier person.
If you have read these books and appreciated
them, we would really appreciate you taking the time and
writing a

Hello Lise,
I've
completed numerous workshops with you in France some years
ago. My life has been
transformed; I live in the "perfect" house and met the man of
my life! I can't find
the right words to describe the richness of what you teach. It
saved my life. Today,
I find it difficult to achieve my career plan but I know that
everything is possible. I wish to convey this message to all
people feeling in a deadlock or seeking the tools to create
ones life. Lise, you are creator of unconditional love, which
transforms everything into joy and success. I THANK YOU AND YOUR TEAM FOR YOUR

It's important to laugh!
|
A man hated his wife's cat and he decided to get
rid of it. He drove 20 blocks away from home and dropped the
cat there. The cat was already walking up the driveway when he
approached his home.
The next day, he decided to drop the cat 40
blocks away but the same thing happened.
He kept on increasing the number of
blocks but the cat kept on coming home before him. At last he
decided to drive a few miles away, turn right, then left, past
the bridge, then right again and another right and so on until
he reached what he thought was a perfect spot and dropped the
cat there.
Hours later, the man calls his wife at home and
asked her, "Jen is the cat there?" "Yes, why do you ask?"
answered the wife. Frustrated the man said, "Put that cat on
the phone, I'm lost and I need
directions."
